Do Men Spend More Money On Their Wives Or Mistresses For V-Day?

If there’s anything we’ve learned from “Being Mary Jane”, “Scandal”, the news and “Maury”– mistresses are winning.

Since the beginning of time, side-pieces have always existed stirring up distrust, agitation and tension within monogamous relationships. But at some point, they begin to demand more and men are supplying!



According to a survey of 2,210 married men, members of Seeking Arrangement, 35 percent of them spend more on their mistresses the week of Valentine’s Day than their wives.

“Valentine’s Day is an opportunity for us to show our affection for the ones we love, but what about the ‘Other Women,?,” said Brandon Wade, Founder & CEO of SeekingArrangement.com. “40 percent of our sugar daddies are married, so when Valentine’s Day rolls around, there is more than one woman that will be getting spoiled.”

In addition to spending more on side-pieces, surveyed men are also getting the gifts from higher-end stores. We all know the difference between Victoria’s Secret and La Perla. The bigger question is, why?

Statistics aside, it seems instinctively wrong to invest more in an adulterous relationship than a committed one. One would say it’s a sign of the times but if this is the future of marriage, what will it take for things to turn around?
