Lupita Nyong'o Cozies up with Vogue editor Anna Wintour at the Calvin Klein Fashion Show

They always say, "It's not what what you know, it's who you know," so looks like Lupita Nyong'o and Naomi Watts might have a chance than most at ending up in Vogue.

Lupita Nyong’o has been spotted looking super stylish all over the red carpet recently, in everything from Prada to Ralph Lauren. She’s quickly becoming our new girl crush, and it’s no wonder that Anna Wintour was seen getting friendly with the stunning actress in the front row – is there a Vogue cover in the works?! We sure hope so!

Lupita was attending Calvin Klein Collection’s autumn/winter 2013 show, and, as is customary for all frowers, she wore one of the label's newest creations. She styled a purple shift dress from their Pre-Fall 2014 collection, with some lilac strappy sandals. We love how she added some eye shadow in the same shade – it’s officially fashionable to match your make-up to your outfit!

Michelle Obama Rocks a $12,000' Carolina Herrera gown at the White House State Dinner

Michelle Obama looked absolutely gorgeous in her Venezuelan-American designer Carolina Herrera gown she wore Tuesday to the state dinner honoring French President Francois Hollande.

The gown featured a black, hand-sewn beaded embroidery applique scallop-edged top that came to Ms Obama's elbows. The top went over a blue silk faille corset and long skirt with a train that billowed behind the first lady as she walked with President Barack Obama. She added black Jimmy Choo heels and a black velvet belt. The color also echoed the blue color that both countries share in their flags.

The White House confirmed it was a Herrera gown and Herrera took credit in a news release saying she made the dress at her New York atelier.

She is definitly the First Lady of Fashion and Style.

Lupita Nyong’o turns heads in metallic dress at Hollywood Reporter Nominees Night

She may be a Hollywood rookie, but Lupita Nyong'o's red carpet style is stealing the spotlight from even the most seasoned stars. From a crisp white Calvin Klein pencil dress to a bold red Ralph Lauren cape gown, Lupita's winning ensembles are making her the most talked about celebrity this awards season.

Take this outfit for example. Here the 12 Years A Slave actress looks beautiful in this elegant haute couture Valentino fall 2013 metallic midi dress with delicate crossed cami straps. The Valentino collection focused on Leonardo da Vinci's quote "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" and this number masters both the breathtaking and understated.

Even though she was surrounded by the cream of Tinseltown, the glamorous actress easily outshone her rivals at the Hollywood Reporter Nominees night. The figure-hugging outfit allowed the Kenyan it-girl to flaunt her impressive athletic physique.

Now where's that Oscar...

Lupita Nyong'o Is Stunning in the February Issue of Vogue Italia Magazine

Another month, another fab editorial from Lupita Nyong’o. This time around the Kenyan actress poses for Vogue Italia and we see her at her most flippant and fierce to date in this editorial.

Meanwhile Lupita’s life in the fab lane continues as the it is reported that Brad Pitt is so blown away by the Oscar-nominated actress’s performance in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave that he has made it his mission to mentor her and make her a fully fledged Hollywood star!

And of course Brad Pitt is not the only fan in high places of Lupita as the actress has already won critical acclaim for her role in the Oscar-nominated film but also the  Best Supporting Actress at the Critics’ Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Award. She is also a firm favourite for the 86th Academy Awards taking place on Sunday 2nd of March.

From Artisans in Kenya to High Fashion Models.

Karen Walker, a New Zealand-based eye-wear designer is known for her out-of-this-world eye-wear campaigns. In the past, she has used  advanced style stars, adorable little children and albino models for her campaigns.

The Spring 2014 season is said to be her best yet. In her new campaign, dubbed Visible, she cast Kenyan artisans as her models. Karen Walker opted to use this advertising platform to highlight the plight of poverty-stricken African regions, working with the United Nations' International Trade Centre's Ethical Fashion Initiative to produce unique pouches made by Kenyan artisans, which will accompany any eye-wear purchase. Then taking the project one step further, Ms Walker put the artisans who crafted each pouch infront of the camera, using them as stars for her new ad campaign.
The pouches that will come with each eye-wear purchase

The Ethical Fashion Initiative aims to promote fair and sustainable business rather than a reliance on aid in disadvantaged African communities (their motto is "not charity, just work"), bringing together craftspeople and international brands to produce products.
Walker's involvement will see each pair of the new-season (Spring 2014) Karen Walker sunglasses come with a screen-printed pouch made by Kenyan artisans from local materials, with more elaborate, beaded styles available to buy.

Rapper Wale Poses With Bar Refaeli & Diane von Furstenberg for Harper’s Bazaar

Move over Kanye West! Nigerian-American rapper Wale has joined the high fashion world. He is gracing the pages of Harper's Bazaar with model Bar Refaeli and designer Diane von Furstenberg.

The shoot, photographed by Terry Richardson, represents a play with words with the magazine pegging DVF "the original wrapper," for popularizing the wrap dress design 40 years ago.

Who would have though that by 2014 rappers would be used to advertise/model wrap dresses?

Go Wale, ain't mad at you!
